Guilt is Amar’s continuous exploration into the threshold of painting and photography in his latest solo exhibition. The artist is also venturing into contact prints as an extended method for definition, an ongoing exploration into the permissible and the illegal in painting definition.

This exhibition sees his theme expanded into the pluralistic nature of today’s images. Sources are amalgamated from the photographic noise of today, and further merged into a unifying theme of criticality towards images and his own obsessiveness for info guilt.

Amar is one of the winners of 2022’s Malaysian Emerging Artist Award organised by CIMB Foundation.
