PLAYGROUND, a solo exhibition by emerging Malaysian artist Alya Hatta, is showing at ZHAN Art | Space from 6 January 2020 to 9 February 2020.

The exhibition explores the bittersweet ups and downs of coming into adulthood and key moments that have the power to shape an individual as well as shape the artist’s practice. Formatted as a self-confessional discography of Hatta’s life, the artworks explore joy, sadness, danger and love in what is her most intimate and vulnerable collection of work. Hatta hopes the collection will succinctly reflect her beliefs and the human condition, while also connect others who share parallel experiences.

Hatta is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Art at Goldsmiths University of London. She has exhibited in more than a dozen shows, including locally, in Germany and Britain. PLAYGROUND is her second solo show.
